New quests are released! Sign-ups will open officially on the 3rd of this month, so until then, here's a plotting post for you all to get your Duckletts in a row! Before we hop right into things, though, here are the tallies from total quest points!

⟡ MEMBER RANKING
ICly, Rankings will show the points earned of all Pokemon in guilds, including NPC Pokemon not listed here OOCly. We didn't list guild leaders this time, but might in the future for fun. Keep in mind that quests available to player characters are not the entire pool of quests, and that some are likely snatched up before they can get to them regularly, which is how points vary and how some guilds pull ahead even without much player help. However, over time, player points will certainly affect the standing of guilds! Without further ado, here are the characters in ranking order by guild:

AVAILABLE QUESTS

This is a HEAVY QUEST month, meaning there are quests in the mix that are classified as "heavy!" What does this mean? More chance for plot, and more risk of consequence! Characters can try each quest more than once as long as no claim limit is listed, but will only receive points for any given quest once. However, consequences can occur within these dangerous listed quests. Due to potential for consequence or harm, we recommend waiting for results of one exploration-titled quest before submitting for another.

In addition, we would like to remind players that for these heavy quests, failure is possible. While light quests use solely RNG to determine results, heavy quests use a combination of a point system and RNG-style changes. Success vs failure is calculated via points after gathering information from your submitted summary and some limited mod knowledge (quest history, Pokemon type, etc). Then, using either our “success” or “failure” map, we use a pre-written list of outcomes to formulate what the quest group experiences and form the reply from there. In the previous heavy quest round, we failed to stress the importance of the summary section, and failed to take into account certain Pokemon typing that may have advantages or disadvantages. We also realized that failure resulting in zero points may be too harsh, and have reevaluated that partial points be rewarded even for failures. These have been adjusted this round, and we will continue to make changes as needed with player feedback. The importance of the summary section will be reworded on the quest page itself, as well. Thanks for your patience!

Previously, in addition to sending teams for further investigations to the surrounding forests, investigations of violence along the coastline were made. Thanks to these efforts, three dangerous Pokemon and potential Pokemon have been identified as targets with a Bounty on their head for the month. With that in mind, here's some information about each of the areas for you to use for your threads, to keep in mind while signing up, and to use for knowing what sort of angle you want to use to tackle these.

BOUNTY LIST
Unlike typical Explorations, each of these quests have so great a level of danger ascribed to them that various NPC teams will be patrolling the locations of each Bounty. Their task is to extract any teams who need help on a retreat, so that they can live to fight another day. Success and Failure won't hinge on totally defeating these bounties; no one Pokemon team could hope to take these creatures out on their own! Instead, teams will be expected to do their best to venture into these still somewhat unknown regions and do what they can to try and do their part in the fight.

Bottlecap Bay's Coast
The open ocean Bottlecap Bay overlooks has recently been the scene of various water related attacks, and even possible deaths. Thanks to the efforts and studies of other Pokemon, this is the only Pokemon to be identified. A massive Dondozo, rumored to be a white gleam in the water, now thrashes out in the fog of the bay. Further information can be found on the quest page, but notably, bird Pokemon will find themselves at greater risk against their natural predator.

Middle Forest
A fog-laden stretch filled with steep declines and hidden pits. The mist clings to Pokemon, curving around them like a living being. The forest floor is incredibly unpredictable, and familiar figures might attempt to coax Pokemon apart from one another, or trick you further into the forest in tandem with hallucinations. Recently it has been proven that ground type moves have been playing a role in the shifting terrain, and large shadows were seen lurking near discarded bones. It would be best to prepare for a battle against a truly formidable foe.

Southern Forest
The most treacherous in terms of navigation. Landmarks and markers shift unpredictably, and even weirder, some look aged beyond comprehension. The fog exists here, but it's far less thick than in the center of the forest, even if just as disorienting. Worst of all, parts of the forest floor have already collapsed into a system of unstable, old caves. These caves may collapse even further, leaving Pokemon stranded, separated, or struggling to free themselves. While Ghost Pokemon thrive here, imitating teammates or other wild Pokemon and causing confusion, recent reports have grown sinister— while most content themselves with turning Pokemon on one another, separating them or causing cavern collapses, Ghost Pokemon with traces of green and violet auras have begun to show resistance to Ghost and Dark attacks. Pokemon should be wary of a truly deceptive creature.

A UNIQUE REWARD

During the Test Drive for May, it was stated that any characters to participate in the team building activities of the Archive during the heavy rains would receive a 'Unique Reward'. This reward will be presented to them on June 1st, after careful discussions amongst local tailors. What is this reward?

It's a customized accessory! Anything from hats, to scarves, to simple sashes- every participant will receive one such accessory, and they'll find it imbued with a special power. While defending friends or teammates, it makes them stronger.

ABOUT:

Formerly the notorious Big Bad Wolf of fairytale fame, Bigby is now the exhausted sheriff of Fabletown in New York City circa the 1980s. Despite wanting to move on from his brutal past, his fellow Fables aren’t so easily convinced that he’s around to serve their best interests even after centuries on the job already. There’s a part of him that doesn’t think he deserves their forgiveness either, that he’s just suppressing the monster he really is, but he’s desperate to keep trying to protect those who need him.

He often skirts the line between sympathetic and ruthless depending on the situation, but in general, he’s mostly just rough around the edges and maybe a little sarcastic on his best days. Bigby can be pretty quick on picking things up, too, but his short temper can easily lead him astray when pushed enough. The man is perpetually on the verge of another crash out, please do not remind him (or do, so he can let out some pent up frustration)!!

PLANS:

/smacks the back of his head This bad boy can fit so much CR—positive, negative, you got it! He’s still new around here, so the main focus for this month will be getting to know the people and places of Bottlecap Bay. He’s also very not happy about being just a small little guy, especially one that has to eat as much as he did during his runt of the litter days, so he’ll be training and hunting whenever just to feel something again. This is his personal hell, but at least he gets a break from the stench of New York City.

He could get dragged into any resource quests, but I’m specifically looking at HEADS OR TAILS and MAD MOONLIGHTER for their investigation potential. He knows how to play detective when the situation calls for it. Otherwise, if you want a potential liability and risk of failure on your hands, take him on MYSTERY GHOSTS for those sweet, sweet mood swings and memory fuckups.

(It is also now my personal mission is to get him scruffed, carried, and/or kicked at least once by every big ‘mon around. Everyone is more than welcome to contribute to this side quest, no questions asked!!)

I feel like these two HAVE to get put on some quests together now...everyone is scared of the hungry rat, we need someone who’s not afraid to put him in his place when he inevitably runs out of seeds. Even funnier to imagine if anytime Bigby gets hurt, it’s whenever Anasui is on clinic rotation. Like C’MON can he get a break from Big Bird ONCE!!

Laios Touden

[He would] have the stats that would normally make up a strong, well-rounded leader. However, his social skills are so lacking that it basically negates his other strengths... Which is to say, this boy ain't right! He has no social graces, is a little too stoked to be here, and tends to unnerve most people even back home. He is now a monster-obsessed-turned-Pokémon-fanatic, and he will be excited to try all the food Bottlecap Bay has to offer. Yes, that means everything. Wait, hold on, please don't go yet—

Laios has always struggled to fit in, but despite his experiences (or more likely because of them), he's far more kind and accepting than most would give him credit for. He may not know how to show it correctly, but he genuinely means well and holds every friendship he does manage to make very close to his heart.

Also. He has an impressive dog impersonation. He's very excited to show it off as an actual dog. Why wouldn't you want to be his friend because he's still an absolute weirdo, that's why.

PLANS:

LAIOS SUCCESSFULLY PROVED HIS WORTH LAST MONTH so now he’s back on his bullshit of messing around instead of focusing on quests (but not completely). He will be practicing his battling a bit more, maybe trying to learn a new move or two, but overall, this will be his month to catch his breath again (while also keeping his fellow Cheri Berries up when he has music nights with Siffrin). Also, like, recouping from the memory mess last month! He is tired and doesn't want to talk about it!

Open to tossing him into any of the resource quests, but I’m really interested in putting him on MOB-Y DOZO because he is insanely curious about how Dondozo and Tatsugiri work in action. He might be a tiny bit of a liability, because it’s partially a research trip for him, but he’ll get down to business when the time comes for it.

I wanted to ask you if it was alright- So Arknights had a collab with Dungeon Meshi a little bit ago, So i wanted to ask if it was alright with you that I assume Flamebringer has heard of Laios. Marcille has canonically talked to someone Flamebringer is friends with, and Laios was making, quite the impression with other Rhodes Island operators, so it wouldn't be impossible for Flamebringer to hear about him down the vine.

If thats not cool tho, thats alright with me! The event was very chill, so I can easily handwave it as being non-canon for Flamebringer.

Also- I saw you were interested in Mad Moonlighter on Bigby! I'm also interested in doing that quest, and I think Flamebringer and Bigby could either get along like a house on fire or hate eachother's guts, in other words, I think sticking them in the same room would be fantastic xD (Also Add him to the list of Mons that need to scruff Bigby- I was reading your post and thinking "oh yeah Flamebringer could scruff him-" and then lo and behold. SO FUNNY STORY I was thinking of asking you the same thing because I haven’t played Arknights BUT I have read about the collab and I think it would be too funny if Flamebringer knew about him, so absolutely that is cool with me!! Laios just going: woah cool someone from home! ...wait a minute i have no idea what this guy is talking about HUH WHAT HELLO? Just so confused. He might think Flamebringer is from the future or something because what the hell is going on...but also tell him more...

I'd love to toss Flamebringer and Bigby out in the wilds for Mad Moonlighter!! I have to laugh they sound so similar...a part of me just wants them to argue until they need to get into a real fight. Then it's time to get serious and they actually manage to work together oh so elegantly.

As for Laios!! Delightful to meet him and trade food ideas!! Sanji is the last person to judge Laios for his interest in eating monsters, due to. Very similar reasons as Senshi actually, I think it works really well!! I'm just working on making up some believable recipes back here hsdhfjkds

HI BRE I'M BRE (me thinking before that i rarely see other bres spelled that way at least WHOOPS) but also of course!! I'm super excited to have Sanji threads with both my hungry lads IT JUST MAKES SENSE

Sanji and Bigby being in the same guild is perfect. Bigby raiding the kitchen all the time. Sanji just trying to cook. Please scruff him out of the way thank you!! Or Sanji can just feed him all the test recipes to keep Bigby busy.

The Senshi/Sanji parallels make me weep don't get me started.....but I ABSOLUTELY would love them getting into hijinks and gathering ingredients in general. Laios is so so excited to share everything he knows so far with someone who can appreciate all the flavor potential. Just think of all the possibilities out there, Sanji. It's their side-quest now to complete the Pokémon culinarian log together.

I'm also down for them to go on Mob-y Dozo together!! The sushi fish is theirs for the taking, so that would actually be so perfect. I think duos are fine, but we can also wrangle another person to join to help if you'd like! Laios at least has a type advantage, so he'll make sure to tank any water moves. ;u;
