ICly, Rankings will show the points earned of all Pokemon in guilds, including NPC Pokemon not listed here OOCly. We didn't list guild leaders this time, but might in the future for fun. Keep in mind that quests available to player characters are not the entire pool of quests, and that some are likely snatched up before they can get to them regularly, which is how points vary and how some guilds pull ahead even without much player help. However, over time, player points will certainly affect the standing of guilds! Without further ado, here are the characters in ranking order by guild:

Calling all available Pokemon capable of rescue! Team Watchlight of the Cheri Berries Guild has yet to return from their mission. According to their most recent mission report to Pellipper, they were located within the Heavy Downmoor region - more specifically, the flood basin.

Please, if you can bring anyone back, the guild will be forever grateful! You will know them by the reflective bands each member wears.

Now that we're keeping track of who's in the city, I've realized that I haven't seen Furfrou in a while... Does anyone know where they might have gone? It might take some investigating, but I'll give you a cool rock for it!

As proof of solidarity with our allies, it is important to help defend the territories of the Forest from those who mean harm. In particular, Arctibax have been spotted harassing local Ghost Pokemon - remind them that they have their own place to call home!

MAYORAL VOTE RESULTS!

On a makeshift stage, as her last activity during this trip to Skull Town, Mightyena counts out the votes collected from all the poll boxes - gently discarding invalid votes to the side. (A Pelipper from the post office reviews that pile, making sure she didn’t make a mistake.)

The other end of the stage holds all five candidates - though Grimpig seems distracted, busily chattering away over telepathy. There’s an increasingly apprehensive silence from Umbreon in particular as the tally starts racking up more and more in his favor, and the pile of votes grows small… and then Malamar exclaims and points. There’s a Swalot near the pile with a suspiciously full-looking mouth!

Swalot is quickly bullied into using Spit Up, revealing a slimy bundle of additional votes. Mightyena dutifully calls these out as well, though she’s hiding a grimace at the clammy texture. By the time she reaches the bottom, though the vote is respectably close, there’s still a clear victor!

As promised, we’ve tallied the IC Vote on our new Mayor for (Death Blood Murder) Skull Town. With that in mind, we’d like to give a hearty congratulations to Cheri Berry Guild’s Lurantis!

Lurantis replaces Mightyena to make a very short, if still gracious, speech - though she’s outwardly calm, perhaps she doesn’t enjoy speaking to crowds? She thanks those who voted for her and promises again to focus first on preparing Skull Town for the encroaching winter, and on relations with the local Pokemon. Then she steps delicately down off the stage and into the crowd to make herself available to talk to.

As it turns out, she’s built up enough popularity that the crowd is packed tight! No Pokemon originating from other worlds will get a chance to speak with her directly before she eventually has to leave, but she’ll be available again in the near future. Just give her a couple of weeks to get settled into her new duties and organize the most urgent tasks and assignments!

INCOMING EVENTS

Winter appears to be arriving a little too quick for everyone’s liking this year, as once the middle of the month arrives so too will snow - and a lot of it! Get ready to see what Pokemon do during a Snow Day as we greet potential new players this month, as we begin to see snow forts, snow wars, and…snow beasts?

Hopefully whatever is coming isn’t any worse than Froslass.

Once upon the 1960s, a little girl was born to end the world. In 2009 she died. And now, she's here.

Agnes is settling into her new life, making friends. She may be seen in the company of Noelle (vaguely threatening protective vibes), Flowey (edgelords united), Bigby (for warm drinks and snackies) or Henry (...she still doesn't have a good reason for this), and spends time running messages from the Watchtowers to the core of the Canopy.

Go ham on the TDM? Possibly let her fur be harvested for the Woolly Activity quest? I'm mostly just vibing for Agnes.

ANYTHING ELSE: I made her a playlist!

Peeks in here as I try to consider some good story beats to aim for with our two... Siffrinx's religion (that does not come up often, for Spoiler reasons) has some thoughts about predestination that might be a "fun" point of discussion if it comes up. (Namely, I think they'd be of the opinion that if Agnes failed to end the world, then she was never actually born for that in the first place, and her cult was mistaken) (with the caveat that I'm very canonblind so this is based on vague osmosis)

But besides that, are there any types of CR you don't have with Agnes yet that you'd like to? If you want negative CR, after (all of whatever that was with the Siffrins last month) Siffrinx is pretty easy to write as aggravating. But if you'd rather stick to friendly CR we can definitely swing that too! There's always the option of sending them on a quest too...

I mean, her cult was dedicated to one of several fear gods who were all competing to decide whose end of the world plan would come to fruition, so her failure was less "not living up to destiny" and more "being taken out of commission by the competition", if you will.

(Though one of those fears, the one Agnes has the most personal beef with, is the fear of being used, manipulated, set on a track that you can't get off of, destiny without free will and spiders. So.)

Agnes...did not have meaningful deep relationships and interactions with people in her own world. The closest that she got to having a friend was either:
a.) The man who raised her in a house that was a Gap in Reality that the Web, the fear mentioned above manipulated Agnes into widening.
b.) The cult member who worshiped Agnes as a true believer and brought her a stipend to live on after she was anchored.
or c.) The barista boy who had a crush on her, who she went on one date with, gave third degree burns with a kiss on the cheek, and who found out that she died, apparently by suicide, immediately after that date.

She's figuring out how to even interact with people as a person.

You know how shonen anime will have a mentor figure who's at the top of the school, who the main protagonist aspires to beat/be like/become the successor to? Here's Umemiya. Orphaned, but surrounded by loving found family. Tough as nails, but good with children. A gardener who nurtures his kouhai just as much as his plants.

In BCB, Umemiya's having a little trouble with his Aura Sense picking up too much, especially when groups of people are in distress. But he's been actively jumping on quests and growing vegetables in his winter garden and trying not to think too much about that whole issue.

One of Umemiya's canonmates may make an appearance on the TDM, which is going to be interesting (especially since their timelines don't match exactly, so Ume will learn he's not missing at home). He might also be nudged by this into taking on Fireheart's player quest, because this isn't the first canonmate Ume has seen...

Beyond that, the reward party for the Brassica Bonanza quest will be held some time this month. I'm trying to figure out how best to handle the mingle, maybe allow those who quested to bring a +1, so we can make it a bigger thing?

Oh, and come hell or high water, he's getting his jacket this month.
