NOVEMBER PLOTTING POST

⋆✩ plotting post ✩⋆

MEMBER & GUILD RANKING
New quests are released! Sign-ups will open officially on the 3rd of this month, so until then, here's a plotting post for you all to get your Duckletts in a row! Before we hop right into things, though, here are the tallies from total quest points!
MEMBER RANKING
ICly, Rankings will show the points earned of all Pokemon in guilds, including NPC Pokemon not listed here OOCly. We didn't list guild leaders this time, but might in the future for fun. Keep in mind that quests available to player characters are not the entire pool of quests, and that some are likely snatched up before they can get to them regularly, which is how points vary and how some guilds pull ahead even without much player help. However, over time, player points will certainly affect the standing of guilds! Without further ado, here are the characters in ranking order by guild:

Oran Berries
Akechi 4500 points
Shoka 2700 points
Emmet 3250 points
Ren 2700 points *

Tenna 100 points
(* OOCly, Siffrin (ISAT) has 600 points and Siffrin (SA) has 2650 points, but ICly they were mixed up and their points were pooled together. Also, Guilmon and Laios have earned an upgrade to mid-tier housing!)

Congratulations to Ren, Siffrin (SA), Guilmon, and Laios, for achieving the next tier of accommodation! You are free to assume at any time during the month, that your Guild Leader has approached you with an offer to move to Middle Tier Housing; as this is an optional upgrade, you are also free to remain in Lower Tier Housing instead.

Note: It is entirely possible that Ribombee will approach Siffrin (ISAT), due to confusing them for each other.

GUILD RANKING
And of course, posted everywhere is the guild ranking.

DIFFICULTY: ★✩✩

POINTS REWARDED: 50 points

MAYORAL VOTE RESULTS!

On a makeshift stage, as her last activity during this trip to Skull Town, Mightyena counts out the votes collected from all the poll boxes - gently discarding invalid votes to the side. (A Pelipper from the post office reviews that pile, making sure she didn’t make a mistake.)

The other end of the stage holds all five candidates - though Grimpig seems distracted, busily chattering away over telepathy. There’s an increasingly apprehensive silence from Umbreon in particular as the tally starts racking up more and more in his favor, and the pile of votes grows small… and then Malamar exclaims and points. There’s a Swalot near the pile with a suspiciously full-looking mouth!

Swalot is quickly bullied into using Spit Up, revealing a slimy bundle of additional votes. Mightyena dutifully calls these out as well, though she’s hiding a grimace at the clammy texture. By the time she reaches the bottom, though the vote is respectably close, there’s still a clear victor!

As promised, we’ve tallied the IC Vote on our new Mayor for (Death Blood Murder) Skull Town. With that in mind, we’d like to give a hearty congratulations to Cheri Berry Guild’s Lurantis!

Lurantis replaces Mightyena to make a very short, if still gracious, speech - though she’s outwardly calm, perhaps she doesn’t enjoy speaking to crowds? She thanks those who voted for her and promises again to focus first on preparing Skull Town for the encroaching winter, and on relations with the local Pokemon. Then she steps delicately down off the stage and into the crowd to make herself available to talk to.

As it turns out, she’s built up enough popularity that the crowd is packed tight! No Pokemon originating from other worlds will get a chance to speak with her directly before she eventually has to leave, but she’ll be available again in the near future. Just give her a couple of weeks to get settled into her new duties and organize the most urgent tasks and assignments!

INCOMING EVENTS

Winter appears to be arriving a little too quick for everyone’s liking this year, as once the middle of the month arrives so too will snow - and a lot of it! Get ready to see what Pokemon do during a Snow Day as we greet potential new players this month, as we begin to see snow forts, snow wars, and…snow beasts?

Hopefully whatever is coming isn’t any worse than Froslass.

THAT INGO AND EMMET QUEST!!!

Emporio knows both of them fairly well so luckily that includes type advantages and disadvantages, of which he's actually pretty well stalked. Like Shoka, he has a Dark Move, and it's one he's honed quite well; Fling. He keeps a stock of stones and things to chuck for that reason.

What's more important, at least in Ingo's case though, is that Emporio finally has a Ground type move, Bone Rush. A big ol' multi-hit where he just pulls a club outta the dirt and starts going to town. I don't think he's actually ever used it in front of the boys, so that could come as a surprise.

Emporio would also suggest using their size to their advantage. They're quite small, which means they're going after this with some David V Goliath energy.

He won't hold it against her that she's reckless- alas, that's another Jolyneism- but depending on how hard they get their butts handed to them he'll probably confront her afterward like 'hey what the heck was that'

If they think in advance enough though, maybe they can throw some packs of dirt. POCKET SAND. DUST CLOUD. AAAAAAAAAA-

SORRY FOR THE DELAY here is my small essay of a summary - let me know if anything should be reworded or if i forgot anything!!:
Both Emporio and Shoka are bringing a fair amount of experience and useful moves to this fight! They've spent enough time with Emmet and Ingo both in and outside of quests to know some of their tricks (Shoka is already familiar with how Emmet's Illusion ability works, for example, and Emporio has their type advantages and disadvantages figured out) and they have a number of super effective moves on their side. As Dark-type moves, Shoka's Thief and Emporio's Fling will give them some coverage against both of their opponents (and reliable options to use if they can't tell which of the twins they're attacking, thanks to Emmet's Illusion), and the Fire/Ghost-type Ingo will have to account for the Ghost and Ground-type moves they also have in their arsenal.

In particular, Emporio has recently learned Bone Rush, a move he hasn't used in front of Ingo or Emmet, which may take them off guard. Shoka has also built up a varied moveset for herself with several Ghost and Fairy-type moves to choose from, as well as newer moves like Protect and Draining Kiss to keep her in the fight for longer.

Based on Emporio's suggestion, they will also be trying to use their size to their advantage. They're quite small compared to Emmet and Ingo, so they'll be bringing some David vs. Goliath energy to the battle. Shoka's Double Team can also make a small target even
more difficult to hit!

Shoka and Emporio, having taken on battle-focused quests together before, have decent synergy battling together as a team, but Shoka may not be taking this battle as seriously as she should be. All she really wants is an excuse to blow off some steam, so she'll be messing around and fighting recklessly—probably not quite delivering the type of "serious battle" Emmet likes to see (and possibly causing some friction with Emporio as well, depending on how well things turn out for them). While Shoka and Emporio have a fair amount of experience with battle by now, they're also still beginners when compared to professional battlers Ingo and Emmet.
