OOC INTRO

We've gotten a nice first round for the start of the game! There's a form below for you all to introduce yourselves, or get reacquainted after the interest check, and start your plotting in game! Quests will be releasing in about a week along with the first event that will center largely around these quests. Afterwards, we plan on having a temperature check of sorts where you can all express thoughts or concerns on the pacing, handling, or anything else. Things aren't fully set in stone, and we can make adjustments moving forward!

Remember to follow the plurk (baymods) for more minor updates! As you jump into the intro, here are some important things to note:

⟡ ICly, there was a "town meeting" held today where the guild leaders announced that newcomers would be invited to guilds. It has been decided that characters should join a guild to help give back to the city that will, in turn, help them find a way home. Dr. Denne mentions that he's been assigned to make this his top priority for the time being.

⟡ Characters may have been ICly told about this decision before the meeting, depending on their intro blurb.

⟡ This meeting is when characters receive their grumpearls, meaning they have been taught how to use the network! You are free to post open logs or network posts now that the game is officially open. Remember, the network is a psychic connection, so it is quite possible to transmit thoughts unintentionally, have issues, etc.

⟡ The guild leaders are very busy getting everything in order with these decisions, but they will be available for threading with in some limited capacity on the event post. Until then, if there's an urgent question your character would seek them out for, or maybe a message they'd like to send (due to their intro prompts or otherwise), there will be a header below for you to do so.

⟡ Many "newcomers" have vanished. Those faces you met on the TDM are gone just as quickly as they arrived. Some have trouble remembering them. Maybe even you can only imagine a fuzzy outline of someone, no recognition of the conversations you might have had, or maybe certain highlights are more clear. Dr. Denne mentions that this is a known phenomenon, that some of them can recall them, but not others. They say they'll be keeping a record of the Pokemon here now so that they won't be lost, and will try to find out what happened.

ABOUT: I've been away from DWRP for a while but I'm coming back with a new character from my comfort series. My character type is either The Worst Man You've Ever Met or plucky, dumb heroes and Firepaw is definitely the latter. Outside of RP, I draw comics and occasionally do commission art. Also, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon was one of my favorite games growing up and being here has inspired me to start an interlibrary loan to try and get the new game, hopefully that arrives soon.

ABOUT:

Firepaw was originally a house cat, but he wandered away from home and joined a gang colony of cats living in the woods called ThunderClan. While the Clan cats normally don't trust housecats, he's been working very hard to prove himself just as capable as other cats. He's excitable, curious and friendly, and he has the sort of deep-seated need to help others that tends to get him in a world of trouble.

He's currently about eight months old, and I think in like six months I'll probably canon-update him to the end of the first book so he can get his adult name.

PLANS:

Mostly just settling in, but I'm excited for Firepaw to make more friends and start helping everyone that he can! Not just doing quests, but also trying to make the other newbies more comfortable. Bonus: at some point he's gonna start hunting, and then deal with the moral dilemma of everything edible also being able to talk to him.

SEEKING/OFFERING:

A friend! I'm also very open to negative CR, but Firepaw just loves meeting people and forming connections. I think it could be fun to handwave that behind the scenes certain characters have been explaining all of the structures and objects around the Bay that he's never encountered before, like bread and boats and what exactly the ocean is.

CHERI BERRY PAL omg that little cat is... so memeable I love him. But honestly, he's super interested in what other people from other worlds think about cats. Other characters in his world hate thinking about cats being pets but he's fairly medium about it. Very much "it's not for me but I get why my friends like it".

Absolutely! I'm still canonblind to Akechi specifically but I'm making my way through Persona 5 and I played all of Persona 4 in high school :> I cannot wait to get more shenanigans.

If you'd like to dip your toes into Warriors I have a link to the graphic novel I got his icons from, but uh. The series is very long and unhinged and I totally get people not vibing with it, lol.

Emporio got into the ~Exclusive Lum Guild~ but suffice to say that's not stopping the kid from branching out and

Anyway Emporio has a strange amount of experience explaining 'human' (stares. At the pokemon.) things to non human entities (STARES AT THE COLONY OF PLANKTON), so I think it could be fun cr given the chance!

Cats grow Weird and warriors are even more vague about ages, like some cats mention their kittens opening their eyes on day one?? But yes, he's like... roughly a preteen! I considered bringing him in as a six-month-old but then he would not have any workable knowledge of the Warriors lore and that seemed like a waste. Bonus: Firepaw will probably call him a Twoleg kit.

I... need to finish Stone Ocean but I'm also so stoked to see a Jojo, I love that show so much <3 One of these days I'll rewatch it so I can pick my Joseph muse back up.

Better than like... I vaguely remember them meeting other cats that call them pinkskins or something like that?? awful.

Honestly I've been into Jojo since forever but it took a long time for me to pick a muse... I love pretty much every character but Joseph, Jolyne and Okuyasu are my blorbos. I haven't played Joseph in a long time but I love him because he's so perfect for my mun style of "I can't wait for terrible things to happen to this man, because he deserves it :)"

Haha, I can relate to that- for all that I picked up Jonathan quickly enough, it took until Stone Ocean for anyone else to grab me (And you can see the result of that!).

Granted, from there I wound up with Yasuho from part 8, but ah...fortunately writing characters in fic is a lot easier because I've got a lot of feelings about just about every character there is, but I could never manage most of them in RP.

LFMNFHJ- OH JOSEPH IS IDEAL FOR THAT HUH you might end up with muses from 7 when that finally gets animated in that case. Plenty of gremlins in that one, pft.

good, Araki is so good at writing absolute gremlins. Even Jotaro seems like he should be the straight man in his group and he always ends up doing the most insane shit. But yeah, I get some characters being better for fic or RP.. most of the characters I vibe with strongly are villains but they frequently don't do well in RP.

Villains are so hard to balance in an RP setting honestly, I have a lot of respect for the folks who can manage it. Right up there with characters whose defining trait is 'gonna get home or die trying!!!', that one gets tricky in jamjars as well I think...

Yeahhhh that's a lot of why I don't play Bluestar very often, I have to find games where she won't be constantly clawing up the walls to go home. Firepaw would probably be the same if he was deeper into his plot, but hopefully I can caaaarefully canon update him as I go and he'll be too attached to his friends to want to leave.

also because doc comes from a world where most fauna is just completely extinct so i think it will be very funny to get the most biased accounts of what animals are like

Firepaw is fully gonna convince him that cats normally have hidden societies in the woods and speak in full sentences. but to be fair, Firepaw didn't know that humans had sentient thoughts until he showed up here.
