OOC INTRO

We've gotten a nice first round for the start of the game! There's a form below for you all to introduce yourselves, or get reacquainted after the interest check, and start your plotting in game! Quests will be releasing in about a week along with the first event that will center largely around these quests. Afterwards, we plan on having a temperature check of sorts where you can all express thoughts or concerns on the pacing, handling, or anything else. Things aren't fully set in stone, and we can make adjustments moving forward!

Remember to follow the plurk (baymods) for more minor updates! As you jump into the intro, here are some important things to note:

⟡ ICly, there was a "town meeting" held today where the guild leaders announced that newcomers would be invited to guilds. It has been decided that characters should join a guild to help give back to the city that will, in turn, help them find a way home. Dr. Denne mentions that he's been assigned to make this his top priority for the time being.

⟡ Characters may have been ICly told about this decision before the meeting, depending on their intro blurb.

⟡ This meeting is when characters receive their grumpearls, meaning they have been taught how to use the network! You are free to post open logs or network posts now that the game is officially open. Remember, the network is a psychic connection, so it is quite possible to transmit thoughts unintentionally, have issues, etc.

⟡ The guild leaders are very busy getting everything in order with these decisions, but they will be available for threading with in some limited capacity on the event post. Until then, if there's an urgent question your character would seek them out for, or maybe a message they'd like to send (due to their intro prompts or otherwise), there will be a header below for you to do so.

⟡ Many "newcomers" have vanished. Those faces you met on the TDM are gone just as quickly as they arrived. Some have trouble remembering them. Maybe even you can only imagine a fuzzy outline of someone, no recognition of the conversations you might have had, or maybe certain highlights are more clear. Dr. Denne mentions that this is a known phenomenon, that some of them can recall them, but not others. They say they'll be keeping a record of the Pokemon here now so that they won't be lost, and will try to find out what happened.

ABOUT:

A.B.A is basically the Guilty Gear stray. She has no real connection to the overall plot (Like, for real, there's an anime coming out and I'll be lucky if she gets a cameo) and spends her whole time doing her own thing. That thing is traveling the world and trying to find a way to give her giant key husband a human body. Just girl things. A.B.A is a homunculus whose creator got kidnapped by the military before she got a chance to wake up, so she spent the first ten years of her life locked away in his mansion. As you can imagine, this sort of isolation has made her incredibly socially awkward, so she's naturally a timid and shy person. To counteract this, she acts a lot like a cornered animal when faced with any sort of confrontation and is prone to lashing out. Once she knows everything is okay, she's usually really quiet, if not a little silly. Thankfully, Pokémon are way cuter than people, so they're easier to interact with! ...So long as they're small.

She love keys.

Just looking to get her footing in! I'm so happy she got Oran, because I'd love for her to work on overcoming her fears and use her fighting prowess towards something helpful. She's a big strong Pokémon, she SHOULD be helping!

Firoza is my Warrior of Light from the critically acclaimed MMORPG etc etc, you know the meme. She's just finished up her cool summer vacation adventure in Dawntrail, so we're kind of on a renewing, healing sort of energy with our travels here. She's used to being a Paladin, aka a tank with some serious defensive capabilities, so becoming a tiny poisonous baby is...weird! Now instead of wanting everything to only hit her, she can't let anyone hit her! Her hobbies include weaving/sewing, enjoying some excellent bread, learning about new sword things, and helping people whosoever they might be. Even if they need you to collect or transport poop.

Final Fantasy XIV sure is a game.

PLANS:

Honestly my top plan is "write more of Firoza doing stuff", but that's awfully broad...to narrow it a bit, I'd love for her to make connections with new and different characters, to learn about different worlds and a little of how they work in addition to this one we've all been tossed into, and to just make friends and have a good time. I also want to explore faults and pitfalls Firoza has as someone who isn't super smart or clever, who is so used to self-sacrifice and helping others, and have her test her limits and grow stronger in a way that works for the game setting.

I'D LOVE NEW FRIENDS she needs friends. She'd like friends, it kind of fucks her up on the inside to be totally thrown away from everyone she knows? No Scions, no friends from other lands, nobody's here and her expertise is limited. ABOUT:

Let's make a deal-- a favor now for a favor later. I set before you this fuckin guy. An ageless shapeshifting demon who's had it out for those Care Bears since the Earth was one big ocean, he's got one goal: eradicate love and caring from the planet. And he has a damn good time doing it, too. Arrogant and smug, he loves to cause problems on purpose and, even moreso, convince others to do so on his behalf. During the plot of Care Bears Movie II, Dark Heart draws a girl at summer camp into a Faustian contract and convinces her to work on his behalf to trap the Care Bears one by one. However, this backfires on him, as she teaches him through her actions what it is to care for someone. She saves him from drowning (which-- it's Care Bears, don't think too much about it lmao) when she could have just let him die. "Good or bad, you're still a person". And this simple act upends his entire worldview. Through the rest of the movie he's grappling with being in debt to this girl and, mortifyingly, his affection for her. It inspires him to act selflessly, to put others before himself. To... care. Can you fucking imagine?

In spite of being really cocky, he's got no reason to be lmao he's so embarrassing. Dark Heart has the ability to bestow powers on others and, while being magically powerful himself, has the athleticism of a wet noodle. He breaks into the Care Bears home base and gets shoved around by babies. He crows his plans for world domination and then falls over and bonks his head on the side of the canoe he's in because he stood up too fast. It's a time. All bark and only some bite. I love slapstick.

PLANS:

My primary goal for Dark Heart is to have him grappling with the idea that he can feel and he can feel deeply. He's always been against the notion of caring not because he lacks capacity but because he doesn't understand it. So I really want him to wrestle with that! Making connections will feel weird but my aim as a player is always to make my characters uncomfortable lol. And if I can help facilitate your plot/goals/ideas I'd be happy to do that!

ABOUT:

Formerly the "second coming of the Detective Prince," Akechi is a mess of trauma, bad life choices, and a touch of violence and betrayal, but thanks to the compassion of Ren Amamiya (AKA Joker), he was able to develop a genuine connection with someone for the first time in his life. Sure, he almost killed the guy, but you can blame his shitty father in part for that, and "delicious pancakes" saved the day.

And it's thanks to that connection with Ren that Akechi was able to defy death... twice now, when he expected his life to end in sacrifice. As a result, he's rather aimless in terms of what he wants to do with his life, since he expected to die at the end of the game's third semester, but has been busying himself by trying to gain an understanding of the circumstances here and snooping around.

Make no mistake, though. This boy has deep seated issues, a body count, and many regrets for the direction his life took, even if he's often too proud to admit it.

PLANS:

Akechi will be very interested in any opportunities to expand his knowledge here. Lots of field exploration, mingling with the locals and others in this predicament, all while taking on missions to build strength and experience in this new body. Emmet told him about evolution, and he wnats to be bigger and more powerful rather than a small, kickable orb.

SEEKING/OFFERING:

I think this loser should be subject to the real super power of teamwork/friendship, especially since he's in Oran. He has Ren as the one person he trusts without question, and he made some connections during the TDM, but Akechi is still a hot mess of a person and is currently not confronting his personal doubts, baggage, and issues in favor of focusing on this world, their circumstances, and trying to put that ol' detective instinct to use.

I don't mind rivalries or friction too, of course. Open to a lot of shenanigans! Fellow brainy types, people to drive him nuts... I love me some sillies as well as character growth and plot.

ABOUT:

Emporio is a 12 year old kid who is just cubone incarnate, though he's going to be carrying his helmet around strapped to his back like a horrible...weirdo backpack. Equipped unknowingly with the move Secret Power (it's a Surprise Tool for Later), he's just come out of a fairly apocalyptic canon point- which, I'm being vague about here, in case anyone wants to watch his show!

I'll have on his permissions some notes on that, and an option for people to opt in or out of certain spoilers, but for now what matters is that he's a good kid- and very smart. Emporio grew up hiding in a prison, playing braincell to a cast of grown adults, so suffice to say, he's ready to do that again! Without the hiding in prison part.

Honestly it's a miracle he came out so well adjusted, let alone this normally dressed. Like, my two smile icons both come from a single anime-only scene. Miracle.

PLANS:

Other than some housekeeping in the form of sheets getting filled, most of my plans for the moment are simple- keep tagging back on threads I've got, do a bit of poking around for February prompts if people had 'm, and maybe take a peek at quests once they go up. Until we pass Valentines Day, I'll likely be a bit scarce; I work making food trays, so suffice to say between the Superb Owl at hand, and the incoming romance day, I'm gonna be a bit busy! But after that it's dead hours, so.

You know, if you asked me last year if I'd be playing a character from Fallout, I'd say no. But then Courier Six - Perrin - surfaced again. He's a complete dope of a guy - but also a guy heavily guided by the world he comes from. He's a 38-year-old trans man who will sometimes joke he's died twice. He got shot in the head, left for dead, but was shown kindness and nursed back to health.

And then took over the Mojave for anarchy. You know. Just Mailman Things. He also carries a lot of guilt, but has this aura of just being a nice dude! Because he wants to be good. He so fucking wants to be good. Please let him be good. He won't accidentally nuke this town. He promises.

PLANS:

Perrin wishes, first of all, to keep his own records of who's here. Those who didn't disappear like dreams, that is. Perhaps it's the fact he has a brain injury. Or perhaps it's because he got assigned into Lum. But he wants to begin by making a dictionary or listing of those here, and what worlds they might come from. I'll do an IC post for this, sometime, and also have a post in my journal for handwaving it.

For if people can just vanish like dreams, like on the TDM, then who will remember them? Who are they, if they forget their history? Yes he is very influenced by his foil Ulysses tyvm.

Also it makes for a funny CR gathering thing since Perrin is an idiot and doesn't realise the multiverse exists yet.

Other then that, however, Perrin plans on figuring out his place in the Lum Berries, and figuring out how to survive when the world is not post-post Apocolyptic. I also hope for him to discover more about what it means to be a person. And have more of a gender awakening that he doesn't need to be just a guy.

SEEKING/OFFERING:

Please somebody teach Perrin there's multiple universes before he tells everybody that the world is going to end in 2077. Please. But also, Perrin is the sort of guy who's gonna set up and seem he's got it all put together! He's a dragon! He's big, he's powerful, he's got hands! So if you need a seeming dope friend who knows a lot, then he's your guy.

Also somebody learn his name is Perrin and not. Courier Six. Because he's using the title to try and distance himself from what he thinks, sometimes, is just a weird trip or something he fucked with in Big MT. I'd also love to do stuff with the nightmare prompts, but I don't know if Perrin will speak about that sort of stuff! He's secretive!

I'll be getting back to tags on the TDM (got exhausted from Cancon/TTRPG convention), but will love to begin new stuff as well.

ANYTHING ELSE: As a note for people who actually know Fallout: I have not watched the TV show and thus will not be using any canon from it, S1 or S2. (It seems S2 is going to be having NV stuff.) even if it has my blorbos.

Sometimes a tomb robber and Card Game Satan both hate the same person enough that they soul-fuse into somebody new. This is sometimes complicated by a Total Amnesia spell that lasts 3000 years and has the new guy scrambling to fulfill a plan he can't even remember! By the time he realized his plan and ultimate purpose were "destroy the entire world" he did not have time to contemplate how that slotted into "there's one or two people on the planet I actually kinda like though". But then he was foiled! And, being a necklace who possessed people, he promptly got dropped in a hole in the Egyptian desert and kind of forgotten about, which really pissed him off and may have further sold him on his intended purpose but mostly it just made him mad. So when he got a chance to Try Again of course he leapt at it! Only he failed. again. and this time got purged from reality. As did the Items he needed to ever try again even if he did get home from here - so, he's a little lost now on what exactly he even wants to do.

PLANS:

I want him to find a new purpose in life! And also come to terms with having lost the sacrificed souls that had been trapped in his cursed gold, who were kind of his family by way of his human-half... He is currently less ok than he'd like people to think,,

SEEKING/OFFERING:

Solid relationships, any flavor of CR really just stuff that he'd get Attached to; but I'm especially interested in friendships! ...And maybe some help curbing his self-serving (and/or pointlessly destructive) tendencies.

Conrad is a genuinely nice person, despite being grumpy and a bit of a worry wort. It frustrates him, but it's not hard to see past all his blustering and get that he's actually quite the softie. He likes to pretend he's not a pushover, but he's all bark and no bite. Well, mostly. He can be a little hot-headed and he's not afraid to punch someone for being a jerk. And he does have some baggage, as he had a pretty abysmal childhood and a rough start when it came to being an adult. He has some emotional issues and hang-ups he should really try to work on.

Shortly before becoming a Pokémon he was made into a vampire and he may have been the world's worst undead blood sucker. He couldn't view people as food and all his anxieties and insecurities kept him from reaching his full potential as a creature of the night.

PLANS:

I would be interested in Conrad dealing with the trauma of turning into a Pokémon. One minute he's a vampire and the next he's a Pocket Monster. It's a bit much, he's been turned into too many weird things! I'd also like him to figure stuff out about himself, maybe get over some of his personal hurdles.

SEEKING/OFFERING:

Conrad could definitely use some friends here. And maybe someone who can help him do some deep soul searching? He's also available to be kicked around or he can be a shoulder to cry on or he can just be awkward around your character, he's versatile. More seriously: He's the (former) leader of the Phantom Thieves, a vigilante group that, through supernatural means, changed the hearts of corrupt people that the justice system otherwise wouldn't touch. Ren has a strong set of morals and rebellious streak that, with his generally polite demeanor, you wouldn't expect. Dig a little deeper, though, and his playful, snarky, and occasionally downright bombastic and dramatic nature unearths itself. He can be quite cocky, even in extremely dangerous situations, and has the tendency to be a bit of a troll. He's someone who's extremely resistant when it comes to rigid authority structures, especially ones that aren't fair, or unjust. Again, though, to an outsider, he just seems polite for the most part. If he doesn't like you, and thinks you're unjust... you'll know. Small acts of defiance can go a long way, sometimes. He's also not above getting his hands dirty in the name of his own justice.

Ren is also extremely good at putting on masks. He can twist himself to be whatever it is you want from him, and he WILL do this for people he likes, or people he wants something from. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that even his closest friends don't fully know him. He doesn't LOOK or FEEL like he's hiding anything, but at the same time... he's very bad at expressing his own needs. It's hard to tell if he even knows who "he" is supposed to be. Very few people can see through this facade... because it's hard to say how much of it IS a facade, and how much of it is just innate to him, and how he interacts with the world.

As for his current situation... he unjustly was sent to Tokyo on probation, which, through the actions of the Phantom Thieves and the many confidants he gained during his time there, got lifted (tldr: changed some hearts, challenged a god (or two), ended up in jail and testified against the guy who put him on probation. It was a whole thing). He was just on his way home by train when suddenly, something strange happened... and now he's here.

PLANS:

I want to throw Ren into Some Situations forreal. I want him to learn how to work with his new powers, his new body, and maybe also learn to do something about that self-sacrificial nature of his. Bro has trauma and he won't admit it to anyone. He's so fine sir SO fine (he's not but he's really good at pretending there's nothing wrong, even to himself. Especially to himself). Most of all, I'm honestly just here to have a good time. I'll take whatever I can get, as long as I'm having fun. And if I get to put my boy through some bullshit along the way? All the better.

Firepaw was originally a house cat, but he wandered away from home and joined a gang colony of cats living in the woods called ThunderClan. While the Clan cats normally don't trust housecats, he's been working very hard to prove himself just as capable as other cats. He's excitable, curious and friendly, and he has the sort of deep-seated need to help others that tends to get him in a world of trouble.

He's currently about eight months old, and I think in like six months I'll probably canon-update him to the end of the first book so he can get his adult name.

Mostly just settling in, but I'm excited for Firepaw to make more friends and start helping everyone that he can! Not just doing quests, but also trying to make the other newbies more comfortable. Bonus: at some point he's gonna start hunting, and then deal with the moral dilemma of everything edible also being able to talk to him.

Ingo is himself a Pokemon trainer! Originally hailing from the modern-day setting of Unova, he found himself flung through time and space to make an appearance in the distant past of Sinnoh as well - so this isn't exactly his first rodeo. This one just involves a few more Pokemon transformations!

A responsible and dedicated sort of person, Ingo cares a great deal about helping lost passengers! His demeanor may make him seem harsh and unapproachable; he isn't very good at expression, mostly just wearing his natural severe-looking frown, and he's also quite a loud speaker, especially when he becomes excited. But he's very friendly and always willing to help others learn more about The World Of Pokemon (TM)!

PLANS:

Ingo's going to jump right into making himself a resource for other new arrivals. Whether it's identifying species and probable abilities or helping people work out how to conduct themselves in battle, he's your guy! And so is his long-lost brother Emmet! Working through the personal upheaval of randomly meeting the identical twin he forgot existed and learning that he was actually somehow from the future this entire time will be a pretty big distraction for sure, but honestly it may give Ingo even more reason to focus on helping others rather than uhhhhh worrying about his own shit!

ABOUT:

You know him by now (some of you, anyway), Emmet's the cheerful and smileyfaced guy who barrelled into you going "HEY, WANNA FIGHT?" on the TDM. That is just the speed he runs at and he has no brakes. He is also one of those guys who already seems to know a decent amount about Pokemon because they came from a world where they actually existed, huh, weird!

More seriously, Emmet's a Pokemon trainer hailing from modern-day Unova, which kind of sort of is and isn't New York City in the same way that Sinnoh isn't Hokkaido and Galar isn't Britain and so on and so forth. His day job is as a conductor in the subway system spanning the region, which, since this is the Pokemon world, alongside just being a regular subway also serves the fun extra purpose of hosting a competitive battle circuit on it, which he serves as Facility Head for. Unlike some people, this is his first time getting isekai'd. Expect train metaphors and a lot of enthusiasm for battling, especially battling people who are fun to fight because they're strong. Did we mention he likes winning?

That said, he does tend to keep an eye out for lost passengers in his own way, even if he doesn't always necessarily come off as immediately responsible as a certain someone else. Oh, right—

Long lost twin brother? Oh, that? Haha! Well, they've found each other, so everything's perfectly fine now, right?

PLANS:

Assigned to the guild that lives underground, it's truly like he's never left the subway. If there's a tunnel in a cliff face somewhere you will find a train twin in it, I see ... As far as immediate plans go, it's mostly going to be settling in for him and maybe trying to figure out how to get Illusion working, because the way he currently looks is sort of, well, hmmmmmm. I'll keep tagging back current TDM threads as long as they're relevant/we want to keep them going, but if you want me to tag in somewhere in specific or want to do something with the February prompts just gimme a holler! Though Emmet might be pretty tight-lipped about the nightmare prompts.

Anyway, let him be a useful guidepost and resource for all of the new arrivals looking to try to get a handle on what they've turned into while absolutely not at all dwelling on whatever the hell he's got going on personally! It's fine! A conductor is there to provide assistance to passengers who need it, after all! He'll be looking to learn more about the situation they're all in too but that might take a bit of a backseat compared to trying to help others get settled depending on who he's talking to.

In many ways, Shoka is just your average teenager. She loves shopping, fashion, and mobile games (her favorite being FanGO, her world's equivalent to Pokémon GO), and will be missing her phone and the internet intensely. She is sarcastic, stubborn, and often surly. She struggles with feelings of apathy and self-doubt. She's also been dead and "living" as an ageless (Grim) Reaper for a while and loves to fight people for fun.

Despite her attitude problem, deep down she means well, and those willing to accept her spicy outer layer may find in her a loyal friend who can be helpful and even sweet in her own way.

PLANS:

Since Shoka accepted her death a long time ago, she's unsure of what to do with herself now that she's some form of alive again (for those in the know: her canon point is immediately after meeting Joshua). Right now, she'll mostly just be going through the motions, aimless and questioning if she even has the right or will to still be around. In the long term, I'd like her to find more things worth fighting for and rediscover her will to live. In the short term, I'd just like her to get settled in the community and start building something of a support system/some attachment to other characters.

She will probably also be using her grumpearl to beam 2021-era memes directly into people's heads for her own entertainment. Sorry.

SEEKING/OFFERING:

Anything and everything... I would especially love her to find friends who will accept her warts and all, characters she can have fun messing with, and perhaps some mentor figures...? Also definitely open to negative CR as well, since she can be very difficult to get along with. If you would find it amusing to have your character be bullied by an 8-inch-tall rag-doll, I'm here for you. 🫡

She will love battling as well, so sparring buddies and characters who might help her to hone her skills and better understand her Mimikyu form would also be a big plus!

Alastor, known as The Radio Demon, is every edgy teenager's OC - because that is literally where he comes from. He's a danger and a menace where he resides now in literal Biblical Hell, known for killing and even purportedly eating other powerful Sinners. He also loves musicals, loves performing on the radio, and loves jazz. He's absolutely ridiculous and that's the appeal. His current "project" in canon is indulging Princess Charlie's "doomed to fail" redemption project to see Sinners constantly fail to better themselves. He's bringing the same energy to this funny little Bay town.

PLANS:

Alastor is still internally deciding on the long term plan for this place (or seeing if he even needs one) and for the short term? Well, he's caused quite a stir already by rejecting Polteageist's recruitment directly and openly, publicly making a giant SHOW of joining Ribombee. He wants front row seats for all the people in the town going about their little projects and lives. He wants to build up control of the guild somehow, possibly to indulge in future personal projects (he is probably going to try and sell everyone on radio towers), so on, so forth. Definitely a good Samaritan, of course he's being SOOO good.
