ICly, Rankings will show the points earned of all Pokemon in guilds, including NPC Pokemon not listed here OOCly. We didn't list guild leaders this time, but might in the future for fun. Keep in mind that quests available to player characters are not the entire pool of quests, and that some are likely snatched up before they can get to them regularly, which is how points vary and how some guilds pull ahead even without much player help. However, over time, player points will certainly affect the standing of guilds! Without further ado, here are the characters in ranking order by guild:

Now that we're keeping track of who's in the city, I've realized that I haven't seen Furfrou in a while... Does anyone know where they might have gone? It might take some investigating, but I'll give you a cool rock for it!

As proof of solidarity with our allies, it is important to help defend the territories of the Forest from those who mean harm. In particular, Arctibax have been spotted harassing local Ghost Pokemon - remind them that they have their own place to call home!

MAYORAL VOTE RESULTS!

On a makeshift stage, as her last activity during this trip to Skull Town, Mightyena counts out the votes collected from all the poll boxes - gently discarding invalid votes to the side. (A Pelipper from the post office reviews that pile, making sure she didn’t make a mistake.)

The other end of the stage holds all five candidates - though Grimpig seems distracted, busily chattering away over telepathy. There’s an increasingly apprehensive silence from Umbreon in particular as the tally starts racking up more and more in his favor, and the pile of votes grows small… and then Malamar exclaims and points. There’s a Swalot near the pile with a suspiciously full-looking mouth!

Swalot is quickly bullied into using Spit Up, revealing a slimy bundle of additional votes. Mightyena dutifully calls these out as well, though she’s hiding a grimace at the clammy texture. By the time she reaches the bottom, though the vote is respectably close, there’s still a clear victor!

As promised, we’ve tallied the IC Vote on our new Mayor for (Death Blood Murder) Skull Town. With that in mind, we’d like to give a hearty congratulations to Cheri Berry Guild’s Lurantis!

Lurantis replaces Mightyena to make a very short, if still gracious, speech - though she’s outwardly calm, perhaps she doesn’t enjoy speaking to crowds? She thanks those who voted for her and promises again to focus first on preparing Skull Town for the encroaching winter, and on relations with the local Pokemon. Then she steps delicately down off the stage and into the crowd to make herself available to talk to.

As it turns out, she’s built up enough popularity that the crowd is packed tight! No Pokemon originating from other worlds will get a chance to speak with her directly before she eventually has to leave, but she’ll be available again in the near future. Just give her a couple of weeks to get settled into her new duties and organize the most urgent tasks and assignments!


INCOMING EVENTS

Winter appears to be arriving a little too quick for everyone’s liking this year, as once the middle of the month arrives so too will snow - and a lot of it! Get ready to see what Pokemon do during a Snow Day as we greet potential new players this month, as we begin to see snow forts, snow wars, and…snow beasts?

Hopefully whatever is coming isn’t any worse than Froslass.

[He would] have the stats that would normally make up a strong, well-rounded leader. However, his social skills are so lacking that it basically negates his other strengths... Which is to say, this boy ain't right! He has no social graces, is a little too stoked to be here, and tends to unnerve most people even back home. He is now a monster-obsessed-turned-Pokémon-fanatic, and he will be excited to try all the food Bottlecap Bay has to offer. Yes, that means everything. Wait, hold on, please don't go yet—

Laios has always struggled to fit in, but despite his experiences (or more likely because of them), he's far more kind and accepting than most would give him credit for. He may not know how to show it correctly, but he genuinely means well and holds every friendship he does manage to make very close to his heart.

Also. He has an impressive dog impersonation. He's very excited to show it off as an actual dog. Why wouldn't you want to be his friend because he's still an absolute weirdo, that's why.

PLANS:

October was a quieter month for him to catch up on some much-needed R&R while he wraps his brain around... things. Since he didn't head out on any mapping quests, he'd probably love to hear about all the goings on there. Otherwise, he’s been busy helping with farm-adjacent duties in the background. Herding Wooloos, harvesting crops, delivering Miltank milk around town… somehow, he’s a natural at all this kind of stuff.

With November being his birthday month, I’ve got an idea for player quest that will eventually wrap up into a casual mingle thread right before December. (UPDATE: quest is up!) He doesn’t mind bringing it up, but he won’t make too big a deal of it. Also, new housing! Mixed emotions! He’s gotten too used to sleeping next to everyone, so it’s going to take some coaxing for him to eventually move, but maybe the mingle can be a housewarming-birthday party for the hell of it.

As for quests, I’d love for him to help out with Is Anyone Out There in support of Fireheart (his official mentor by the way — yes, he will be bringing it up any chance he can). Otherwise, he’s definitely a good fit for Woolly Activity and Who Watches the Watchlights, which I’m open to handwave with the TDM around the corner!

if you're up for taking a stab at the draft, please go for it!! i feel like Laios probably has more to offer/describe anyway on account of being a dog and also warrior-in-training...on Shoka's end, she has a pretty good sense of smell (about on par with a mouse) but she's less experienced as a tracker. as someone who's been around BCB since the beginning, she does have familiarity with a lot of locations though! her being a Mimikyu can also give her some additional advantages in certain spots and situations (her size + Shadow Sneak move lets her search narrow crannies and make quick getaways in an emergency, she can see well in the dark, etc.) but that depends on the location obviously

did you have any preference on where they go searching? Shoka won't have any real preference ICly (and i also don't OOCly lmao), but the last time she saw Maysilee was at Froslass' party in (Death Blood Murder) Skull Town

sure i can draft something and honestly no real preference either on location!! the tall grass in the outskirts of skull town would probably be something laios suggests, with that being the most recent area for newcomers to show up. it would have the freshest clues (presumably), and maysilee was hanging around skull town for the party, so it would all line up nicely.

BIGBY WOLF

ABOUT:

Formerly the notorious Big Bad Wolf of fairytale fame, Bigby is now the exhausted sheriff of Fabletown in New York City circa the 1980s. Despite wanting to move on from his brutal past, his fellow Fables aren’t so easily convinced that he’s around to serve their best interests even after centuries on the job already. There’s a part of him that doesn’t think he deserves their forgiveness either, that he’s just suppressing the monster he really is, but he’s desperate to keep trying to protect those who need him.

He often skirts the line between sympathetic and ruthless depending on the situation, but in general, he’s mostly just rough around the edges and maybe a little sarcastic on his best days. Bigby can be pretty quick on picking things up, too, but his short temper can easily lead him astray when pushed enough. The man is perpetually on the verge of another crash out, please do not remind him (or do, so he can let out some pent up frustration)!!

PLANS:

Despite the absolute stress of Noelle going missing and him turning into a ghost, October turned into a relatively good month? He’s letting down some walls down, making more than one friend all by himself, learning how to cook and sew… He even kind of resolved that beef with Fireheart. This is all absolutely huge for a guy who did nothing but work for a town that hates him. Self-actualization: it can happen to anyone!

Currently, he’s in food hoarding and storing mode around the Spire, but please don’t mention it (but also do). It’s early November, but he’s already putting that scarf he got to good use. He misses his winter coat... Anyway! Quests! Open to all of them, but Furfrou’s Sake and Bax to Arctibax seem fun. He is still absolutely salty about Ghost-types, but now he can relate to them or whatever.

All the player quests are good too, but Don’t Get Snowdin especially because Bigby will not be happy going all the way up the Canopy for the first time! As always, I’m okay to handwave any with the TDM coming up!

How about sending them on either Furfrou’s Sake orrr possibly even Snowdin (Again)? The latter one I can just imagine her saying it's just some construction job only for him to show up to find out it's at the Canopy (one fear).

I would love to do this as a cute handwave CR if you'd like for Bigby and Dolly, especially with Dolly teaching Bigby how to sew: They make these super cute sugar mice plushies for holiday gift giving as well as an easy introduction to sewing for Bigby to try out.
